At our markets, we meet a lot of really good people and pick up some very interesting ideas.

 

One of these is...ALUMINIUM CAULDRONS. Not exactly(!) authentic Medieval material so why do it?

 

Well, how about for THEATRES - stagehands do not want to lug a heavy cauldron about.

                             CAMPERS - love the idea of cooking in a 'real' cauldron but not the weight.

                                  DYERS - iron goes rusty and bronze is very expensive.

           NON-UK CUSTOMERS - low weight means much lower shipping costs.

 

The reason we use so much aluminium for cookware these days is because it is much, much easier to live with. 

So, if your cauldrons will be looked at, but not handled, by 'civilians', aluminium may be for you. 

 

Remember, the cauldrons are EXACTLY the SAME shape and size; we paint the outside with stove black paint and when you oil and fire the cauldron, it will blacken up nicely on the inside too.
